Not to mention lunch and dinner! We feed them on whole grains because we know this is best for their health.
As the piglets grow up, we gradually get them used to solid food by preparing a home-made slop.
Using a hyper-digestible infant feed, which avoids digestive problems in the delicate post weaning period.

As soon as an animal falls sick, we isolate it so that it cannot infect its compatriots and allow it to be treated tranquilly, in a calm area.
We use alternatives to medication, such as essential oils, phytotherapy and homoeopathy, which are solutions that effectively fight bacteria and viruses during farming.

Room for natural defences!
We reinforce their natural defences using probiotics. Oh yes! Vitamins and flora activators help prevent diseases.
Our breeders are fine observers!
We monitor the health of small piglets at least twice a day and continue after weaning, in order to detect any small health problems very early on, and to avoid them being transmitted to others.

We don't castrate
Our pigs are not castrated, and that is unique in France! It is a way to respect their physical integrity. They are thus less stressed and more naturally resistant.
As far as possible we try not to separate siblings in order not to upset their bearings, as well as to avoid unnecessary anxiety.

That's not all?
To avoid the pigs catching a cold, we regulate the temperature of the building, all year round, according to the physiological steps of the animal.
Our rearers adopt gentle movements and establish relationships with the animals by placing their hands on them, which reduces stress-related digestive disorders.

We multiply the number of controls and cleanings of the troughs, to avoid any source of bacteria in our buildings.
On our farms, we clean or change our clothes several times per day in order to avoid transmitting microbes from the larger to the smaller animals.
We are improving the water quality, through a very sophisticated water supply system for reducing bacteriological risk.

Biosecurity is the keyword
We are establishing strict rules to optimise biosecurity: hygiene, feed, air quality, isolation; we are devising systems so that bacteria cannot spread!

We save water!
At Lamballe, where most of our work is carried out (slaughterhouse, cutting, processing), we recycle 1/3 of our waste water in our own water treatment station! This recycled water covers 70% of our non-feed requirements: washing of livestock trucks, cleaning of workshops, etc.
Oh yes! We limit the spread of our manure by offering rearers processing stations that separate liquid and solid materials. The latter are dried to be used in organic fertiliser, for the crops of our agricultural colleagues.
Our slaughterhouse and workshop are located close to our breedings. It allows to reduce distances and our carbon footprint!

Maintaining health at work
For some manual jobs, we encourage task rotation in order to limit repetitive movements.
What is ergonomics? It's maintaining health by fitting out the work environment appropriately. This involves, for example, adapting the height of certain work stations to provide greater convenience and comfort.
We provide a number of personal protection equipment articles according to the risks inherent in the specific job, in order to prevent injury (safety footwear, earplugs, safety helmets, mesh aprons, mesh gloves...).

Professional and responsible
Our animals are stunned before slaughter, limiting their stress and their pain.
Our drivers are trained to drive smoothly and appropriately, to ensure there is no stress for the pigs during the journey from farm to abattoir.
After transport, our pigs rest for some time in a quiet location, with water available, to remove the stress linked to transport and the change of surroundings.

At Brocéliande, we are faithful to our convictions, which is why all our products are made from meat from our own farms, located in the great west of France. This is a brand of cooperative breeders!

We do not play with food!
We are intractable on the quality of our meats! Numerous checks are carried out at all stages of manufacture to assure us.
With us, we like to please the greatest number! So, before launching a new product, it is tasted by a panel of consumers, to be sure that its taste is up to your expectations!
Regular tasting of our products helps us ensure that they meet the standard that we wish to offer, as well as giving us the chance to enjoy them!
Our charter of ingredients requires us to use only good things in our recipes. For example, as quickly as possible we are withdrawing preservatives for which there is no need from our products.
